Electronic Components Testing

Electronic Components Testing is becoming more crucial in today’s world.  Electronic devices are getting smaller while more functionality is being crammed into the ‘package’  – who primarily uses a smartphone today to make ‘phone calls’ – so, to ensure the robust operation of device, physical testing of critical components is essential. Since the electronic components are becoming smaller, so too must test jigs to accommodate these smaller pieces.

As an example of today’s shrinking world, Tinius Olsen has been working with a leading cell phone manufacturer in the UK to determine the low force flexural characteristics of circuit boards and flexible circuits used throughout the mobile phone industry. We have just developed, and supplied them with, a micro flex attachment for flexural testing on any membrane type material. This jig has a maximum support span of 30mm, 3mm diameter supports and loading and supports loads up to 5N.

Now you can be confident that the phones from this manufacturer are robust and reliable and have been thoroughly tested to ensure a long and safe life.
